This is going to sound weird because.... well, it is... :
This time of year, stores that sell only a few specific products (such as Payless in this case), are getting rid of the last remains of last year's product for dirt cheap. Seeing as we got a puppy last summer, I really needed to get some new sandles. Instead of wait for prime weather, I got them now for above said reason. Well, apparently not only has our puppy not grown out of his shoe chewing stage, but my mom has acquired selective hearing.
The pup has severe separation anxiety, and the second we leave (even though we give him his busy ball) he runs to the front door and starts to try to dig his way out, then resorts to chewing anything he can. Well, last Thursday, on my way out the door for work, I asked my mother if she'd kick my new shoes into the shoe closet on her way out (she was right behind me, but my arms were full). Well, needless to say, she didn't put them away. I arrived home to find one shoe entirely ruined and the other left unscathed ( even though it sat right next to the other one).
I went and got another pair.... in fact, the last pair left in any of the stores in a 100 mile radius. I did this because the first pair only cost $7 and the second pair only cost $4.. together still less than you'd usually pay for one pair. So now I'm left with 3 shoes. The first pair were an 11, and the second a 12 (because that's all they have and they fit me fine).
So basically, what I want to know is.... what do I do with that one perfectly fine shoe? I just can't bring myself to throw it away! Such a waste! The only thing I can figure is to salvage the chewed shoe and re-cover both with a new fabric.... but is that going to work?
Any help would be appreciated!
