THE NEXT GENERATION MEME
Which still has nothing to do with Star Trek. Shush.
HOW YOU DO IT:
→Comment with a list of your characters!
→Other people respond to your comment with a pairing (likely or unlikely) of one of your characters + another character→Kapoof! Those two characters are now the proud parents of a bouncing baby boy, girl, or thing ( Read more... )

(Or, if you actually remember the kid shenanigans from the last time we did this meme and just want to ask me a bunch of ridiculous questions about those existing kidlets, feel free to do that, too. o/)

Care to elaborate any further (if that's humanly possible) on the royal children of these two?

1/2, naturally, because I am tl;dr primrosella August 4 2011, 02:46:30 UTC
CAW, MOTHERFUCKERS.

Okay, so the thirty-second rundown for those playing along at home who weren't onboard for the ridiculous roller-coaster ride of shenanigans that was Rosella and Cain's kid:

Cain leaves the City, Rosella goes with him back to London, she hates it a whole lot but such is life, they have a bunch of illicit encounters in the Scandalous Rendezvous House on the other side of Cain's property, magic ends up calling Rosella home, she jumps into a fountain and lands in Daventry, several months later there is a SURPRISE BABY BOY. Who grows up to be basically one of the greatest magicians alive. Who then finds his way back to London and gets up to SHENANIGANS. And makes Crehador's life miserable in the process, whee.

SO ANYWAY. I think about the only thing I haven't really elaborated on with this kid is...what he ends up doing when he stops running around causing massive property damage in London. >> DUDE'S GOTTA SETTLE DOWN SOMETIME. And I think it gets kind of interesting because for all that he technically holds claim ( ... )

So ultimately, I don't think Kit ends up inheriting Daventry, even though it's his birthright. Instead what probably happens is that Alexander and Cassima have two kids (quite possibly twins), and then one inherits the Green Isles and the other gets Daventry after Rosella surrenders the crown, and Kit just sort of subtly sidesteps the line of succession that way. I think he'd be good at being king, but I don't think it'd make him happy. Kit's all about personal potential and self-made choices, and the person he's made himself into just isn't best suited to being a reigning king. He's much better off with the freedom to move around, have adventures (he is his mother's son), right wrongs, be wizardly, make Crehador's life miserable, and sort of enjoy both of his birthrights (London and Daventry) while officially laying claim to neither. He's a kid that straddles two worlds, and I think he likes it that way ( ... )

YES I KNOW I CHEATED AND DIDN'T ACTUALLY INVENT A NEW KID.

...Someone instructed Rosella in the magic of contraceptives. THAT'S MY STORY AND I'M STICKING WITH IT.

Not gonna lie, the mental image of Kit rolling in and pulling an Italy on the Deity Building is going to entertain me for a long and beautiful time.

Finnick and Angela primrosella August 4 2011, 17:44:02 UTC
Name: Pearl Sunfish Odair

Appearance/Description: More like her mother than her father (to Finnick's somewhat relief), and she missed out on the famous sea-green eyes, but her smile is a pretty good imitation of her dad's and she's got some of his bronze in her long dark hair, which tends to come out in streaks when she spends too much time in the sun. She did, however, get his body type--very tall, very lean, and perhaps regrettably for a growing girl, with basically no curves to speak of.

Personality/Temperament: Hilariously, she's as much of a prude as her parents aren't. Just because she knows all about stuff like that and accepts that it's perfectly normal and healthy doesn't mean she likes talking about it, god, you guys. She's friendly enough without quite making it into extroverted, and tends to be fairly independent; she has friends, but she doesn't rely on them, and most of the time she could be just as happy on her own as she could within a group. She takes after her father in that she loves to swim, and she thankfully ( ... )

Rosella and Angela primrosella August 4 2011, 18:04:23 UTC
Name: Constance Montenegro (of Daventry)

Appearance/Description: Very short! At least, that's the first thing everyone tends to notice about her, and everything else afterward. She's a generally small, elven kind of girl, which bothers her for all of ten seconds until it occurs to her that being small and agile can have some very distinct advantages when it comes to getting into mischief. (Which she does.) She's blonde with brown eyes, rosy cheeks, a cheerful smile, and more energy than her parents sometimes know what to do with.

Personality/Temperament: Sweet, bubbly, vivacious, enthusiastic. She wants to do everything and try everything and has a difficult time believing that there are, in fact, things she can't. No one is quite sure who's responsible for the boundless enthusiasm, but they're pretty sure the adventuring spirit came from Rosella, and the fearlessness to try anything once came from Angela, and they sort of both contributed to the go-get-'em attitude that their daughter now displays so prominently.

Okay, it seriously actually took me this long to try and brain Finnick and Saya's kid. WHY DOES THIS EXIST.

Name: Mina Coral Odair

Appearance/Description: Perhaps luckily for Mina, she ended up inheriting her height from her father (so no super-high heels necessary, luckily); perhaps unluckily for everyone else, she ended up inheriting her other special attributes from her mother. And since I technically forget the ins and outs of Saya's canon and how dealing with babies tends to work, I'm going to make this up as I go--so yes, she's destined to be a werespider herself. Little does Finnick know. Likewise unluckily for the safety of the populace as a whole, she got the best of both her parents' appearances; Mina isn't just good-looking or pretty or attractive, she's astoundingly beautiful. To the point that it's almost unsettling, actually, which is about right for a kid with Saya as a mother. Thus, she's got the long dark hair, Finnick's famous sea-green eyes, Saya's poise, and a really, really good metabolism.

I see someone is destined to be a dolomedes, sob. Between Finnick and Scholar she's gonna surf and swim and be EXTRA.

DEADLY. when she turns.

Oh Finnick. He must have been slightly high on something. Possibly Saya's pheromones.

I HAVE NO ANSWER FOR HOW THIS CAME TO BE. I started out writing "In a flagrant lapse of common sense and good judgment" and then I was like "...wait, this is Finnick, that's a given."

I'm a fan of the mental image of Finnick reading "The Compleat Unabridged Encyclopedia Of Every Baby Name Ever In Existence" aloud, too. I imagine it is roughly the size of a brick and could serve as an adequate tool for bludgeoning small mammals to death.

He keeps reading aloud from it while Saya's trying to work and finally she's like /heels on balls

'No more.'

Sob I'm just imagining Saya, 8 months pregnant, and wearing heels.

And doing an atrocious job of pronouncing all the names.

"Emil. Em-EEL. Emi-LEE. Emil-IA. Emi-LEE-AH-NAH. Emi-LEE-AH-NOH. Emi-lee-AY. Emi-lee-EE-EN. Emi-lee-EE-OH. Emi--what, is this bothering you?"

Sob, Saya. So much potential to be off-balance and yet you work it so good.
