Well, I finally did it. I got off my kiester for the first time in several months, and submitted a story to market. I'd made a new year's resolution to submit at least one story to market per month, but after January, all ambitions in that direction fled me. Ugh. Brain-fried. Chalk this up, I suppose, to the past week being pretty busy. Parents came into town last week, and so every day there was something to do, somewhere to go. Seen: Ratatouille. It is made of awesome. Pixar, I love you. Superb story, wonderful characters, etc. etc. Haven't figured out yet where it ranks in my personal ordering of Pixar movies, but it's up there. It's got some wonderfully funny lines, some unexpected surprises, and that touch of poignancy that makes Pixar movies so wonderful ( Read more... )

Last night I had an impromptu writing session with Bill over at the 61c Cafe. It might sound overly 'trendy' or maybe even pretentious, but I like writing in cafes. Things are going well at the new apartment. Last night, Brian's parents and Sarah and Adam and Tim all came over to help install the curtain rods, etc. We got the baker's rack set up in the kitchen, and unpacked various kitchen appliances which will now live on said rack.
