Write about a stranger: SGA - Ronon(/Jennifer-ish) pocky_slash March 9 2008, 01:34:58 UTC
The first time Ronon ends up in the infirmary after Carson, Dr. Biro is attending. She's scattered and clearly nervous about being in charge, but he knows her and she knows them--Ronon, Teyla, John, McKay--and she's taken care of them after missions enough times before that Ronon hardly misses Carson's presence. The others don't seem to notice either, or at least, if they do they're able to pretend that this is no different than any other mission that returned while Carson was in surgery or at lunch ( ... )

Write about a stranger: Doctor Who - Mickey Smith semirose March 9 2008, 01:36:12 UTC
Mickey never told Rose about the man who watched her. Somehow she never noticed that he was always there at the major events in her life, birthdays and graduations and moments of triumph and heartbreak, hiding and pretending to be just a part of the crowd. He was good, no one else seemed to notice, not even Rose, but being there for Rose had been his self appointed job for as long as he could remember and that meant being aware of what was going around around her and a mysterious man showing up always looking the same was something to take note of.

He never approached the man since he never approached her, but he saw him and watched him and sometimes he thought the man was watching him back.

When he met Captain Jack Harkness that day in Cardiff when he almost accepted that being there for Rose wasn’t something he could do anymore, Mickey found he wasn’t the least bit surprised. He was letting someone else who’d been there for Rose all along take over.

OH GOD YES. Jack being angsty and mysterious and slightly stalkery and missing Rose and the Doctor is one of my favorite things ever (as evidenced by the fact that about half my Doctor Who/Torchwood is about that), and MICKEY and oh. Yes. So much love. (Coherency? Who needs coherency?)

Dr. John Malthusi had been teaching at Rocky Mountain Community College for fifteen years when Dr. McKay joined their staff. He’d thought that the name sounded familiar and did a Google search on him after it became readily apparent that the man himself wasn’t going to offer up any personal information. The variety and selectiveness of the information wasn’t much help other than telling him that Dr. McKay was very, very smart. John, not wanting to get off on the wrong foot with the vile-tempered man, had offered to share his coffee pot and insisted that McKay called him John. McKay had blanched and practically fled from the room - although he’d come back after a bit to take John up on the coffee offer. And he’d never once called John by anything but his last name. As the semesters passed and McKay settled into life at RMCC, he’d relaxed a bit. He started decorating his desk and had put up his diplomas. John, curious like a cat, still wanted to know more about McKay, but getting information out of the man (about anything other ( ... )

She's sitting on the edge of the beach, her eyes fixed on the horizon. She can see the dark shape of the boat filled with forlorn people, beginning to sink. She's not stupid; she knows who planned this all out, who worked so hard to sink that boat for such a dark reason ( ... )

"I don't know you," He said, voice unsteady with confusion and the headache that just won't go away. He looks at the man in front of him - dark hair that's all over the place, a drawl that's familiar like plastic under his fingers and yet so incredibly foreign, like air against his face, and eyes that are concerned and welcoming and afraid. "I don't know you." He says it again, like it'll help, and then in a breath goes, "I'm Dr. Rodney McKay and I'm highly valuable and if you do anything to harm me, there will be angry people looking and you will be in so much trouble that there probably isn't a safe place in any galaxy to hide ( ... )

I like this. I'd like to see more, like what happened to Rodney to get him in an alternate reality.
