There are tragedies that I've associated with winter, and every year I avoid them. Distraction has always been easier because anger is a quicker and more tolerable emotion for me than sadness. Now is as good a time as any to try for change.

I understand that the majority of republicans and religious zealots are against abortion. At least I can understand their arguments generally: appreciating the sanctity of life, it's against God's will (despite my agnosticism), abortions are not a form of birth control, and the like.
