Pumpernickel bread with homemade red pepper hummus, cream cheese with scallions, sliced red onion, and avocado = bliss.  I was gonna take a picture, cuz it looked so pretty.  But I ate it.  My bad, well, my good in this case.

I made a blackeye pea and sweet pepper salad a couple of days ago, from a recipe from the NYTimes.  Got around to eating it today for lunch.   Incredible combination.  Meanwhile two avocados were ripening on the kitchen window sill.  I checked them out today - absolutely perfectly ripe.  I used one to make a wrap to go with the salad.  To.   Die ( Read more... )

Got my gloves today.  I understand better why I need them, now that I've listened to Bonnie, the woman who ordered them for me.  Without them, the scars tend to overgrow the wounded areas, leading to stiffness.  She also emphasized constantly applying the A+D ointment, saying it would keep the skin thinner.
