Gloves and food

Got my gloves today.  I understand better why I need them, now that I've listened to Bonnie, the woman who ordered them for me.  Without them, the scars tend to overgrow the wounded areas, leading to stiffness.  She also emphasized constantly applying the A+D ointment, saying it would keep the skin thinner.

Honestly, they feel marvelous.  Like someone is hugging each and every one of my damaged fingers on the left hand, and the palm of my right hand.  Very soothing.

I got a boatload of veggies from the grocery store after that, mindful that money is really tight until my first disability check comes through.  A couple of types of cheese, no meat.  We have frozen fish, pepperoni, sausage, and shrimp, plus eggs and tofu in the fridge.  No worries for protein anytime soon.

Emily mentioned in passing recently that her boyfriend's stepmother (also an Eleanor, by the way) made a pasta dish with spinach and Em ate hers all up.  I verified today that it was chicken and pasta and spinach with a cream sauce.  I explained that I would be substituting shrimp for chicken, and using whole wheat pasta.  Em agreed to try it.

When it was ready to try, I called her out of her room.  She said it looked nothing like what El served.  Then she tried a little, and said, "More."

"More what?" I asked, thinking she might have suggestions as to individual ingredients, and she said, "More FOOD."

O-KAY then!  I think we hit a compromise here.
