my socrates application to vienna for next year was SUCCESSFUL!!!

i can't WAIT! i'd go tomorrow if they let me. woo and i get a 2000 euro grant too! free money!

ooh i'm happy as a happy thing wearing a happy hat and dancing to happy music in a really happy place.

worked the last 3 days, so 3 days' pay next friday, woo! also got my tax code finally sorted out so i get a tax reimbursement of... wait for it... £8.60!!! i'll try not to spend it all at once.

i've been looking into german universities to try to decide where to go in october for my year abroad in my degree. i have pretty much free rein of anywhere in germany, austria or switzerland (well, technically switzerland, but practically, swiss german is a bit of a turn-off). i have literally NO idea which city to pick. i fell i love with vienna ( Read more... )

had a meeting with my tutor yesterday. decided not to withdraw, but to take a year's interruption of study instead (yeah, all those who saw that coming a mile off and i wouldn't listen, say "aye") i'm happy with the decision, i get a year to get my head together, re-do three assignments so i'm all straight from last year, and maybe get into Vienna ( Read more... )

i got an email from my uni today, they want to see me on tuesday to "discuss" my withdrawal and to fill in the necessary paperwork. knowing the sort of person i am, it's fairly likely that i'll come out of that meeting having suspended my degree rather than withdrawing from it... or having enrolled on another one or something. i get so mesmorised ( Read more... )

i did it. 3 B's and 2 C's. i passed even without taking my stolen grades into account. puh i would have got a 2:1. anyway... now i can withdraw from university with my dignity remaining intact.

yes, withdrawing even when i could go on and get a king's degree makes perfect sense to me.

my pride will be my downfall one day... i can tell

it amazes me sometimes how vitriolic i can be *grins evilly*

i WILL get my uni to be nice to me. or at least give me what i want... not necessarily the same thing. and if they think they're getting any fees out of me this year they've got another think coming...

the meeting was very long, pretty scary, very drawn out and very silly (was in the building either in the hearing or waiting for the verdict for almost three hours)... the outcome was slightly different to the result i'd expected, and now the only hindrance to me going on my year abroad are the practical aspects that i'd have to leave in the next ( Read more... )
