I am celebrating by mainling diet sodas throughout the day, because I'm giving them up for Lent.

I'm going to the 12:15 p.m. service at church for the imposition of ashes. And I'm giving up white carbs for Lent, which makes my pancake supper last night appropriately symbolic of Lenten excess. :-)

The Hotel Preston, where we have a lot of our off-site events, sent over dozens and dozens of vanilla and chocolate cupcakes decorated with bunnies while I was on the road today. Downtown Pres is doing their Lenten Film Festival again this year. The theme is "embodiment". I've already missed the first two films in the series ("The Thing" and "Forbidden Games"), but I may try to go tomorrow night to see "Der Golem". I don't know much about the film, but I'm pretty sure it will challenge me in some way.
