Hello everybody! How was everyone's new year? Mine was rubbish, but never mind. Christmas was low-key, but fine. I'm thinking of dropping out of Leeds and re-applying to do Anthropology instead, at Durham or UCL.

 I went to see The Seventh Seal earlier. It's really good. Sometimes there's hype for a reason. "Faith is a torment. It is like loving someone who is out there in the darkness but never appears, no matter how loudly you call." How great is that quotation? Seriously? • You know those ads you get in Gmail that roughly correspond to the subject matter of the email? I just got an ad that said "Girls Bedding". Seriously, I have no idea.
• The pilot episode of Columbo is on. Peter Falk looks all suave and almost kind of sexy. It is completely wrong.

The A level results are released tomorrow. I need AAB to get into Leeds, although there is some leeway - they may still accept me if I get, say, ABB or AAC, as long as I get the A in English.
