Hello everybody! How was everyone's new year? Mine was rubbish, but never mind. Christmas was low-key, but fine. I'm thinking of dropping out of Leeds and re-applying to do Anthropology instead, at Durham or UCL.
Problem is, no science qualification whatsoever, not even a GCSE (long story - nothing to do with my being rubbish at science, which I... probably am, but that's irrelevant). Anyone remember that I had a whole big "should I do Eng or Anth" thing while I was applying? Probably not, but anyway, I made the wrong decision, apparently. Or maybe I'm cooking this up because I'm trying to make excuses for the fact that I'm not completely happy. I JUST DON'T KNOW. I enjoy English, I really do, but I'm not sure if I need a degree in reading stuff and then thinking about it, you know? I can do that at home. Frankly. Plus, one of the big reasons I'm doing Lit is because my dad has been pushing me in that direction pretty much since I learned to read. Which is not a great reason.
ANYWAY. Sorry, boring. I came across
these while I was trying to find a decent version of that "Euripides, Eumenides" joke and some of them are pretty funny. And in case you get to the end, I reckon it's Tom, where Joe had had "had," had had "had had." "Had had" had had more favour with the examiner.
Yes, I'm procrastinating. I should be revising right now. Damn it.
I got the 28 Days/Weeks Later box set and watched them both again over the last two days. Some observations:
1. Zombies are TERRIFYING.
2. Imogen Poots is absolutely stunning. And- and she's a good actress, so I'm totally not objectifying her.
3. I Am Legend WAS a bit rubbish in comparison, looking back, but I enjoyed it at the time.
So, where do you guys stand on zombies?
