Plan A- 14th April - Go home to Hua Hin from London with suitcase full of kids' clothes and toys. Stay one night in Bangkok before taking bus to Hua Hin the next day. Given my employer's dreadful record on its industrial relations, I expect this will have the predictable outcome. We have not been ballotted yet, but if you're travelling abroad in December/January I'd strongly recommend booking with any another carrier. -

Thankfully I'm not involved in this, as I arrived in Washington DC last night. As the primary escape route for people on a 747 upper deck is down the stairs, for the crew to have blown those upper deck slides as well it must have been a seriously bad incident.
