The FAA has finally imposed rules on commercial space flight. My guess is these can only apply to take-off and landing, once you're out of the atmosphere I would think you were out of their jurisdiction.

I don't think I can put my normal space tags on this since NASA isn't involved.

National Geographic reports that one fith of human genes have been patented. I have a problem with this. It's called public domain and/or prior art. We could be driving 1st gen non-poluting air powered vehicles within a year if we got the top manufactures on this. There's lots of info available on a whole economy based around nitrogen as a fuel. All we need is a good way to make the liquid nitrogen without polluting, waterfalls, solar, etc. I'm confident we can get reasonable power out of one ( Read more... )

Here's the one he made about looking down on Area 51. When I tried you coldn't zoom in anywhere on Nevada, damn them playing nice. Wired has a really cool article and slide show about things found in satellite images worth looking at.
