Turns out, I'm allergic to raw peanuts. My coworker had a bag of raw peanuts, and I popped a hand full of them. Within a couple of minutes my lip almost split and swelled, my ears began to itch like I get with my weed/grass allergies, plus a few other allergy symptoms ( Read more... )

I went into work early the other day to finish the second part of my physical. I passed. The doc asked if I was feeling well and healthy, I said no. I passed anyways. National Geographic reports that one fith of human genes have been patented. I have a problem with this. It's called public domain and/or prior art. Per the article "The earliest gene patents were obtained around 1978". Well, human genes, I was born in 1977, if any of the genes in my body violate one of those patents I claim prior art. It looks like some scientist in Wales may have isolated a gene that causes dyslexia. I have mixed feelings about what this implies.
