After doing a bit of swearing I finally just gave up and sanded down my bamboo needle that I am using on the border. I love the bamboo needles - any wood needle for that matter - for doing lace knitting since they seem to keep the stitches in the proper place instead of letting them slip off. The raised beds are now planted. Now all we have to do is sit back and watch them grow. As the sun went down last night I headed to the back door to take in the plants, caught myself and started to laugh.
