First day of preschool for Jimmy! He seemed to like it well enough. There was so much to do - playdough, puzzles, coloring, blocks, kitchen toys, science toys, a turtle in an aquarium, even story time - but the part I liked best was when he volunteered to go peepee in the mini potty! For my birthday, Saturday we went to the Garden in the Woods, hiked a little bit, then had a picnic, and I got to buy some plants for my garden. It was thoroughly enjoyable, despite the fact that we got a late start and had to cut the hike short. We also got to try out the new backpack carrier, finally. Jimmy loved it! Here's a pic!

Went hiking yesterday in the snow with Jimmy, Alessandra, Dave, and Francesco. The first half was really fun, but on the way back both the boys got tired and wanted to eat and nap, and Francesco got pretty cold, so the last 15 minutes were just a crying mess. Went hiking today with Tom and Jimmy at Great Brook State Farm. It was really nice! They have a barn with animals that you can feed and pet, and you can tour the farm's barn and milking facility, although Jimmy was too tired for that by the time we got there, and they had ice cream, which Jimmy wouldn't touch. Nana and Papaw visited this weekend! That's my parents. It was a good visit - James was so very much more comfortable at home. Even my dad got on his knees and played with Jimmy - it was a good sight to see. A friend of ours has a house in Maine and she gave us the keys for Easter weekend. It was a nice trip! Okay, it was actually kind of a comedy of errors, where the car broke down twice, our "easy" 1.4 mile hike ended up a 3 hour sludge through mud, rivers, snow and ice, and we discovered James is screamingly scared of riding the car at night. James was 2 months on Monday and today he had his doctor's checkup. He had to get his first shots today and he was not a happy camper. He calmed down pretty quick, though, and has pretty much slept the rest of the day. Or nursed. He's so hungry lately! But he has grown so much! Went hiking today, with Robyn. There ended up being quite a bit of snow left on the ground! It was actually kind of fun to hike in the snow - I hadn't done that before.
