Erin and I went to the Capitals game yesterday.  We had a really nice time.

In the lightrail metro we rode the elevator up with a couple our age. He was wearing the 1997 Third Jersey, she was wearing the same vintage 1992 Home Jersey that Erin was wearing.

• Erin: His old jersey?
• Her: From middle school.
• Erin: Yep.

Had a crazy good and crazy hectic weekend. Friday was the show at the Sidebar that I put together. Karmella's Game, Avec, The Sort, and The Lost Tourists played. I cannot begin to say how well this show worked out. I had a three day weekend! My office being closed when the courts are is sweet! The weekend started as a potential serious bummer. There was a “soft blockage” of the main drain from my house, so we had sewage backing up through the downstairs shower! I had to bail it out bucket brigade style. Been one hell of a weekend.  Some good (Erin, baseball games), some bad (unplanned interaction with Baltimore’s finest), all exhausting.

Thursday was the Abrasive Wheels show at the Sidebar Tavern.  The ‘Wheels are a legendary UK punk band, and it is remarkable that we got them.  They were super-cool guys, and they put on a great show.  ( Read more... )

Week in review. I am, bit-by-bit, getting more settled into my new place in Hampden. I have a mattress there now. Clothes. Some food. Beer. DVDs. Yesterday I got a power strip for my only outlet.
