I'm usually the spoiler queen but I know nothing and have been able to discover nothing about this very important, very hot *g* topic! Though I sincerely doubt he's leaving even for a little while. For one thing I'll bet he didn't ask the girlfriend if he should join her. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if she balked at the idea. Visits are one thing, full time, with a new job, a totally different matter

See the comment below for the perfect non-spoilery (when it comes to details) reassurance!
It would certainly be pretty fast for him to up and move in with her, especially in a different country, when he's recovering from surgery!
So the question is, was Severide really celibate, or did he just do a good job of keeping secrets from the Chief (who is not an easy guy to fool)? I can actually believe that he would have been - he is so dedicated to his job, I can imagine him giving anything to be good at it. And if that meant no distractions, then no distractions it would be.
I don't think it was one of the best episodes - it seemed disjointed to me, no common theme, all rather bitty. I still enjoyed it, but it wasn't great. The strange thing is, it was co-written by Matt Olmstead, who wrote the wonderful third episode (the one with the drunk-driving son of Voight).
I shall try to be positive about the gap - at least it's helpful if you're writing a story - you've got longer to do it without having to rush to avoid being jossed.
THANK YOU!!! That is the perfect non-spoilery spoiler. Now I can enjoy that final scene - I'll have to rewatch it without the panic! I did so love that Casey and Severide got a scene like that - we've seen so little of their friendship since the pilot.
Also, I loved Mouch with Cruz, trying to get him to talk - such a lovely, quiet little moment. It really was and I felt bad for bracing myself for Mouch to turn it into some sort of joke or something. I guess it's because we haven't seen that side of Mouch before! It was a really nice moment though and argh, Cruz. I love that storyline, painful as it is to watch.
But did anyone else think the airplane crash scene was cut really abruptly? Once second they're about to transport the man with the gut injury, and the next they're all back at the station moving Herrmann's limo - it felt a bit like whip lash! Yeah, that was a bit weird. "Huh... I guess that was it then," was pretty much my reaction. I think it was because nothing carried over from it into the next scene. Nothing about the victims or anything. Maybe they had to cut something significant for time?
Still bouncey over the last scene. I actually like Kelly/Renee but it seems none of it matters much when a Kelly/Matt scene like that shows up.
I think they all use humour a lot of the time, but when one of them needs help, they are all the kind of guys the others can rely on. One of the things I adore so much about the show - the way they're a team/family.

Exactly! Though I always think of the actress' part in Life when I see Renee, and I want her to always be partnered with Charlie Crews - I don't generally get stuck with a character in my head in a particular role, but for some reason, she's Dani Reese to me, and I can't shake it! So I like her, but it feels a bit strange seeing her!
I'd never seen her in anything before in my life so I don't know her but that has to be weird. It's like that sometimes with certain actors. (It occurs to me now that at least I, luckily, don't have that problem with Jesse Spencer *cough*billykennedyfromneighbours*cough*)
Hahaha, no, I don't have any problems with Jesse Spencer and previous characters either. Though I think a lot of people think of him as his character on House.
Sometimes I'm very predictable - there was much freaking out! And great relief when x_tremelylost commented!
I am just going to imagine a whole scene where Casey shows up at the airport and goes running after him and tells him how he feels and Severide is all dimples and grins and "Took you damn long enough, Casey," and then tongue kissing. Okay? Cool.
Of course, now, whatever the show does, it's just not going to be as good as that!
Cruz really needs to tell someone, but it will be a huge burden for whoever he tells. Casey would have to go to the police - I don't know about the other guys, if they'd feel they had to. Such a ghastly situation.
I don't approve of hiatuses - they should have 52 episodes a year! Okay, 51 - I'll give them a week off at Christmas, because I'm generous.
The icon does look a wee bit pixelated on my monitor - maybe save it as a png file, as they tend to be higher quality than jpg files? I can have a look at the screencap for you if it'll help - I have Photoshop.

You know, I had that same thought during that scene with Mouch and I thought that actually, of all the guys he could tell, Mouch may be the one that wouldn't go to the police and that handles it maybe better than the others. I don't think either Otis or Herrmann could handle that emotional burden and Casey or Boden would have to go to the police, but Mouch might be the guy to tell. I don't think Cruz ever will tell anyone though.

I used to use Paint, when I made my very first icons - it is very limited! Have you tried that free program, GIMP? Might be worth a try.
Anyway, I made a few quick version of that image - not an easy one to colour, so I did black and white as well. Don't feel obliged to use them though!
