I'm usually the spoiler queen but I know nothing and have been able to discover nothing about this very important, very hot *g* topic! Though I sincerely doubt he's leaving even for a little while. For one thing I'll bet he didn't ask the girlfriend if he should join her. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if she balked at the idea. Visits are one thing, full time, with a new job, a totally different matter.

I find it really hard to believe that Severide spent two years celibate and I also thought that whole scene was slightly off. If you have some sort of non-fraternization policy then it's in print and up front. You can't have one set of rules for the majority and another for everyone else. Or maybe I'm just pissed that they're trying to cock!block Peter.

To be honest a lot of last nights episode seemed off to me but I spiked a fever and was feeling not well so thought maybe it was just me. Now that you mention it the whole plain thing did seem abrupt.

And yes this when we get in to that period where we have to wait and wait and wait for weeks for a new episode of our favourite US shows. *pouts*

See the comment below for the perfect non-spoilery (when it comes to details) reassurance!

It would certainly be pretty fast for him to up and move in with her, especially in a different country, when he's recovering from surgery!

So the question is, was Severide really celibate, or did he just do a good job of keeping secrets from the Chief (who is not an easy guy to fool)? I can actually believe that he would have been - he is so dedicated to his job, I can imagine him giving anything to be good at it. And if that meant no distractions, then no distractions it would be.

I don't think it was one of the best episodes - it seemed disjointed to me, no common theme, all rather bitty. I still enjoyed it, but it wasn't great. The strange thing is, it was co-written by Matt Olmstead, who wrote the wonderful third episode (the one with the drunk-driving son of Voight).

I shall try to be positive about the gap - at least it's helpful if you're writing a story - you've got longer to do it without having to rush to avoid being jossed.
