I feel like people make too much of the sapphic nature of Nell and Theo’s relationship in The Haunting of Hill House. I won’t deny that there are elements of romance between them, at least on Nell’s end, or that Theo is strongly hinted to not be straight. I’ve had a string of luck recently that would have many finding Jesus. In October my suv was struck by another car driving down the wrong side of the road. Wow. This is one of the best books I've ever read. I searched reddit threads because I'm aching to discuss it, but I didn't see that many insightful comments about it. People seemed very surface level in their thoughts - Cathy was pure evil, Aron was pure good, and Cal was somewhere in between. That's a fairly disappointing take, in my opinion.
