I like his review which I think is pretty balanced in terms of acknowledging the film's issues.
Also it's been a week and I can't get Leigh Gill's scene in the courtroom out of my head. I do wish the film had actually [Spoiler (click to open)]leaned more into that. It seemed like they were wanting to show more of how Arthur can't keep up the persona by forcing him to confront the reality of what he did here, but then they just did the bizarre... 'He presumably gets assaulted in prison and that's what actually shakes him out of it' thing.

As for Joker: Folie à Deux, I really thought it would be bad in a campy fun way but with everyone saying it's just plain horrible I will not be spending money to see it in theatres. I still haven't even seen the Beetlejuice sequel.

On the plus side, this should mean that they go all in on promoting Dune 2 for awards season.
Bummed that Saturday Night isn't doing better, but it feels like the audience for theatrical adult dramas has become inconsistent at best. It's a shame - it wasn't amazing, but I enjoyed it!
Last night, I saw We Live in Time with an Andrew Garfield Q&A after.
