It's people kicking a ball around on 6000 bodies.

The England squad were supposed to wear LGBTQ+ rainbow-coloured armbands as an act of defiance. But they were so afraid they would get yellow-carded they decided not to take the 'risk'.
By contrast, the Iranian footballers refused to acknowledge their national anthem when it was played despite the danger that would expose them to back home.

I've about topped my anger quota for today. Anymore and I'll combust.

What is the point of the marriage certificate for prenatal care? If you don't have one the hope is you and the fetus die before birth?

You aren't supposed to have sex until you're married. I'm assuming unmarried women would have to turn themselves in to receive healthcare

Qatar is no longer allowing public Jewish prayers or kosher food. This after allowing direct flights to Israel, and get those tourists in the country. (Yes, Israel also sucks. But getting tourist money on the expectation you'll allow religious accommodations and then go back on that sucks).

Anyway, I hope FIFA gets some serious consequences for this. Infantino felt Arab the other day (though I bet he no longer feels gay) but it's laughable they didn't even consider the many Arab countries that actually have an established tradition of football, and went for Gulf money in the country where 90% of the population are foreign workers and didn't even have stadiums.

Ugh. So glad I can yell about this on ONTD because the media in my country is so dumb about this.

where did you heard that info about kosher food etc? israeli news said nothing about it yet.
i'm not surprised, after the beer thing being cancelled last minute they can do whatever they want and no one will do anything about it.
israelis should have known better than go there.

Actually, I heard it from an irl in Tel Aviv, but now that I googled it, it looks like several Jewish organizations are claiming it happened but there's no official confirmation. As of yesterday though it was supposed to be allowed, and there have been some protests about it. I'm going to ask my friend where she heard it from! She's not local but some of her coworkers went *shrug* couldn't be me ( ... )

I've reached my hypocrite threshold with watching Formula 1 so I will not be participating this year. Especially since players are too cowardly to subliminally protest.

I've seen a lot of white people using some quote about European countries having their own set of issues, alleging that being against this World Cup is racist.

What has been fascinating is the people I see defending Qatar as the location aren't people who care about soccer.
