Qatar is no longer allowing public Jewish prayers or kosher food. This after allowing direct flights to Israel, and get those tourists in the country. (Yes, Israel also sucks. But getting tourist money on the expectation you'll allow religious accommodations and then go back on that sucks).

Anyway, I hope FIFA gets some serious consequences for this. Infantino felt Arab the other day (though I bet he no longer feels gay) but it's laughable they didn't even consider the many Arab countries that actually have an established tradition of football, and went for Gulf money in the country where 90% of the population are foreign workers and didn't even have stadiums.

Ugh. So glad I can yell about this on ONTD because the media in my country is so dumb about this.

where did you heard that info about kosher food etc? israeli news said nothing about it yet.
i'm not surprised, after the beer thing being cancelled last minute they can do whatever they want and no one will do anything about it.
israelis should have known better than go there.

Actually, I heard it from an irl in Tel Aviv, but now that I googled it, it looks like several Jewish organizations are claiming it happened but there's no official confirmation. As of yesterday though it was supposed to be allowed, and there have been some protests about it. I'm going to ask my friend where she heard it from! She's not local but some of her coworkers went *shrug* couldn't be me ( ... )

Anecdotally, I’ve got a friend there working as a reporter covering the WC (he’s an American Jew but works as a correspondent for i24 sometimes), so far they haven’t been able to get hot/cooked kosher food, it’s just sandwiches and bagels (lol*) so far. The understanding seems to be that there isn’t enough demand for it ( ... )
