I visited the Scratching Post again. This time I was guided (literally, by a volunteer) to a beautiful long-haired orange tabby girl, a new arrival. She had been dumped in a printer paper box outside the building. She was still in a cage, as she was still getting her shots, but she let me pet her and purred quietly. Cats give wonderful feedback.  It's nice to hear somebody purr again.

Guest Cat is working out well.  I think she's getting used to me.  She spent the night on my bed -- not bothering me, just sprawled on her side, snoozing.   And just now she jumped on my lap for petting and an extended ear-scratching session.  My fingers were tired by the time she ( Read more... )

I have a guest at the moment: my sister's cat. My sister is fumigating her place and wanted the cat to be away from the poison. (Apparently the next apartment over from my sister's had some kind of infestation, and DS's apartment has been infected. Ugh.) I also worked on a programming project. I've been programming a lot in my spare time, in part because it's something that has nothing to do with cats, and partly because I've had a lot of good ideas. I didn't mean to do it all evening, but sometimes you get on a roll.
