We're having a tornado warning, so I'm in the safest room in my apartment.  Which is not saying much.

They didn't say you couldn't use WiFi, though, just that you had to take cover immediately.

Birds are starting to chirp again.  Maybe it's over.  The warning's still in effect for another 15 minutes, though.

I'm thinking of buying a house.  Yes, this is in part because of my enormous frustration with the cable situation.  But also because I'm paying a lot of money for what is ultimately a fairly small and inconveniently-arranged space ( Read more... )

Some dudes on a balcony have evidently forgotten that EVERYBODY CAN HEAR EVERYTHING that happens outside. I'm seriously thinking about calling in a noise complaint.

(But, every time I resolve to do it, they quiet down, and I think, no point. Then they start up again.)

If you live in an apartment, with firewalls between apartments but no soundproofing, at what time in the morning does it become acceptable to:

1. Start using a treadmill;
2. Start the washer;
3. Start the dryer;
4. Make use of a vacuum cleaner?

Looked at another apartment today. It turned out to be in a neighborhood that looked even less salubrious than the one from Friday. The apartment was pretty in pictures but shabby in person. Plus the place had a peculiar odor. I told the landlord it wasn't what I'd been looking for ( Read more... )
