Mac sat across from his son, a rare grin on his face. They'd gotten all "shop" talk out of the way and now they were just kicking back, relaxing and speaking of much more pleasant matters.
Cal had just told him about his last dinner with Beccy and Mac threw his head back and laughed. His granddaughter was definitely one of a kind. Mac couldn't help a trace of envy that Cal had so much more time with the girl lately, but he certainly couldn't begrudge him that. He was glad Beccy had at least one of them around.
"That sounds like her," he chuckled and took a drink. Oh, the Hogs Head was a bit vile, but at least the they served decent spirits. Anyone who knew him would know he was in an oddly good mood, but it wasn't that odd. Quality time with his son, however rare, was nearly always a happy occasion.

Much like Mac, Cal sat with a wide grin on his face. Though, honestly, that grin was a lot more common now that he got to see his daughter on a regular basis.
"She's quite an original," he chuckled after a moment and a drink. "Where do you think she got it from... certainly not from either one of us."
Now, Cal knew that his daughter was an awful lot like Mac and himself but he liked to pretend that he had nothing to do with how stubborn she was. If anything, he'd blame the old man. He was nice tonight, though... they could both play innocent.
He was cheerful, that much would have been obvious to anyone in the room. It wasn't often that you'd find Cal drinking and laughing as he had before the war -before he'd lost Cara- but tonight was one of those rare nights.

It was good that they could have a good night like this. Mac could still remember a time when quality father-son time meant glares and awkward silences. It was nice to find a point where they could talk and laugh and enjoy one another's company.
"Oh, surely not from either of us." Mac laughed again and shook his head as he took another drink. Oh, they both knew that was a lie, but having a granddaughter who took after the both of them wasn't exactly a bad thing.

A good drink always ended a long day properly, in Nigel's mind. Mondays were not often especially long, but explaining the prospect of working together with older students to the first and second years had proven rather more of a challenge than he had expected. They were good kids, though, and they would all make excellent assets to the teams they joined. He just hoped the teams formed. That process, though, would have to wait for Tuesday, after the sixth and seventh year students had class

Marcus sat comfortably at one of the small tables and enjoyed his tea. It tasted a bit spicy and sweet at the same time. It rolled across his tongue like warm milk mixed with cream and he closed his eyes, letting the scents of a million spices soothe his nerves.
Dog, on the other hand, was curled up on the ground, half unconscious or so it seemed. The scents that his owner enjoyed so much were wreaking havoc on his sensitive nose and he really hoped that they'd leave soon.

Pearline Devlin made her way to the Hogsmeade Entrance, glad that it was finally spring break and they could indulge in a week off from classes. Furthermore, she was grateful that she could spend the week coming to Hogsmeade, so she could spend as much time with her older brother as possible.
Silently she thanked her father for giving her brother the week off so that they could spend time together.
Sighing, she waited by the entrance, looking for her brother. Where was he? He better show up if he knew what was good for him.

Gerard was looking forward to see Pearline. Of course he was going to show up! He wouldn't miss this, especially since it meant that he got to relax and catch his breath for a week.
It wasn't a beautiful day, in fact it was just a little chilly, but this was the weather he liked. It wasn't cold and yet wasn't hot. Just perfect.
He stepped up to the gates and looked around, trying to find Pearline among the many people around.

Pearline’s eyes lit up in utter delight when she saw her brother. YAY! Of course she had seen him on Valentine’s Day weekend at Hogsmeade, and at the Career Fair, but it was her brother! She was always happy to see him. He was her best friend after all.
Smiling in utter delight she walked over to her brother, and politeness and equtique be damned, she threw her arms around his neck and kissed his cheek. “Oh Ger, it’s so good to see you again!” She smiled hugging him tightly. Her brother! Hers!

Gerard smiled as he caught sight of Pearline walking towards him and threw his arms around her, kissing her other cheek. "It's good to see you too Pear. How are you? Hogwarts treating you well?"
He pulled back his arms but instead just put an arm around her shoulders and nudged her towards the village. It was time to start the brother sister bonding!

Hogsmeade was an excellent place to visit when full of students, Geoffrey had decided quite some time ago (nearly ten years ago, actually, come to think of it). Eugenie always glared at him when he said this, but he was pretty sure that was because she still remembered what, exactly, had led him to make such a decision (though he'd no idea why she held it against him, when she'd had just as good a time as he had).
Paying for his drink, Geoffrey moved away from the bar, his eyes scanning the room, looking to see if he could spot a familiar face in the crowded room.
Sunday, April 16, easter dinner; Three Broomsticksed_agateApril 10 2007, 19:18:39 UTC
Ed sat there with a small booth and almost more presents then he could carry. His wife had resisted the strong urge to come; finding the idea of going into a Wizarding Town just... too much for her.
But instead she found it fit to berade Ed with presents and instructions for Jul.

After Jul's morning run in she had gotten the owl to remind her that her dad would be at the Three Broomsticks this afternoon and had gotten Dumbledore's permission to keep her out past curfew.
So as the rest of the students were getting excited for easter dinner Jul made her way down into Hogsmeade not really quite sure what to expect from her family.
Entering the bar it took her a little while for her eyes to get adjusted to the light and find her Dad surrounded by baskets. Of course she couldn't help but grin knowing that they were presents.
"Hi daddy." She gave him a small hug as he stood up to greet her but he held her there and squeezed her tighter.

"Hey champ." He inspected her a bit, noticed the slight bruises that she was trying to hide. Ed knew that it was from quidditch, afterall they had their last game yesterday: all her owls had at least a paragraph on it... and all of her owls never mentioned Jesse anymore.
"Happy easter. Mum sends her love." He gave her a warm smile and sat down in the booth with his only child. "She..."

"Couldn't come." Jul finished his sentence for him and gave him a small sideways glance. She knew now that her house was filled with lies but still didn't know how to handle it.
Just like any 14 year old would, Jul started inspecting her presents while her dad ordered some drinks for them. She didn't look up again until he started laughing and she felt the blush creep up her cheeks.
