Sunday, April 16, easter dinner; Three Broomsticks ed_agate April 10 2007, 19:18:39 UTC
Ed sat there with a small booth and almost more presents then he could carry. His wife had resisted the strong urge to come; finding the idea of going into a Wizarding Town just... too much for her.

But instead she found it fit to berade Ed with presents and instructions for Jul.

After Jul's morning run in she had gotten the owl to remind her that her dad would be at the Three Broomsticks this afternoon and had gotten Dumbledore's permission to keep her out past curfew.

So as the rest of the students were getting excited for easter dinner Jul made her way down into Hogsmeade not really quite sure what to expect from her family.

Entering the bar it took her a little while for her eyes to get adjusted to the light and find her Dad surrounded by baskets. Of course she couldn't help but grin knowing that they were presents.

"Hi daddy." She gave him a small hug as he stood up to greet her but he held her there and squeezed her tighter.

"Hey champ." He inspected her a bit, noticed the slight bruises that she was trying to hide. Ed knew that it was from quidditch, afterall they had their last game yesterday: all her owls had at least a paragraph on it... and all of her owls never mentioned Jesse anymore.

"Happy easter. Mum sends her love." He gave her a warm smile and sat down in the booth with his only child. "She..."

"Couldn't come." Jul finished his sentence for him and gave him a small sideways glance. She knew now that her house was filled with lies but still didn't know how to handle it.

Just like any 14 year old would, Jul started inspecting her presents while her dad ordered some drinks for them. She didn't look up again until he started laughing and she felt the blush creep up her cheeks.

"What..."

"Oh nothing." Jul kept staring at him and he laughed some more. "Nothing! Just missed you kiddo." Ed sighed and watched his daughter for a second, sure Lynn had started talking to him again but the house wasn't the same when Jul wasn't around. She was almost like his second in command.

He let the silence rush in around them but he didn't mind. He knew that soon Jul would get uncomfortable with it and give them something to talk about. He had alot of questions to ask her but knew that if he started it she would just get upset.

"We lost yesterday..." Jul made a face that didn't hide her hatred of the slytherins very well and Ed had to hold back a laugh.

"I hate it. They totally didn't deserve to win. Stupid Tobias." Jul clamed up now and didn't want to mention to her dad about the small fight she had gotten into afterwards. Yep her family could keep secrets then she could too.

Luckily the waitress arrived and they had to order their food. To Jul it was a godsend of 'change of topic' love.

Ed made a face because he could tell Jul was holding something back on that last bit. Of course he knew that she hated this Tobias boy since that's all she really talked about when mentioning how much she hated slytherins.

He let the subject drop though and ordered his food.

"So then....how's everything else?" Vague enough that she can't feel threatened but showed that he definitely wanted to know more.

Jul drank her drink as her dad asked her that question and wondered what to tell him. She couldn't lie the best and there wasn't that much in her life going that well...

"Studying. Alot. Bri's still tutoring me. And now we got this group thing in our transfiguration class.." Yep she didn't want to talk about anything else other than school... boy how her life had changed.
