Pearline Devlin made her way to the Hogsmeade Entrance, glad that it was finally spring break and they could indulge in a week off from classes. Furthermore, she was grateful that she could spend the week coming to Hogsmeade, so she could spend as much time with her older brother as possible.

Silently she thanked her father for giving her brother the week off so that they could spend time together.

Sighing, she waited by the entrance, looking for her brother. Where was he? He better show up if he knew what was good for him.

Gerard was looking forward to see Pearline. Of course he was going to show up! He wouldn't miss this, especially since it meant that he got to relax and catch his breath for a week.

It wasn't a beautiful day, in fact it was just a little chilly, but this was the weather he liked. It wasn't cold and yet wasn't hot. Just perfect.

He stepped up to the gates and looked around, trying to find Pearline among the many people around.

Pearline’s eyes lit up in utter delight when she saw her brother. YAY! Of course she had seen him on Valentine’s Day weekend at Hogsmeade, and at the Career Fair, but it was her brother! She was always happy to see him. He was her best friend after all.

Smiling in utter delight she walked over to her brother, and politeness and equtique be damned, she threw her arms around his neck and kissed his cheek. “Oh Ger, it’s so good to see you again!” She smiled hugging him tightly. Her brother! Hers!

Gerard smiled as he caught sight of Pearline walking towards him and threw his arms around her, kissing her other cheek. "It's good to see you too Pear. How are you? Hogwarts treating you well?"

He pulled back his arms but instead just put an arm around her shoulders and nudged her towards the village. It was time to start the brother sister bonding!

"I'm fine! Allis well in the land of school. Staying away from the mubloods, focusing on my studies and all that good stuff." She smiled. "The dance is this weekend, so I'm really excited to wear the dress, necklace and shoes you gave me. Tell me, how does a completely straight man have such excellent taste in clothes?"

"That's good," he said with a decisive nod. She was doing well and not associating with those people. That's all he needed to hear. Of course he smiled at the next part and shrugged his shoulders, "Probably from living around you so much."

Pearline laughed and poked her brother in the ribs. "You are just trying to get on my good side Mister." She grinned. "However I must say while the dress, necklace and shoes are nice, I rather do consider this a birthday present in itself. Making up for all the time you missed last year eh?" Pearline smiled, though there was a little sadness in her eyes. She had missed her brother last year when he was busy with work and missions, she was glad he wasnt so tied down this year.

"Where to first? What would you like to do, we have a week...and don't make me pick you pick."

"Well you know I have to make sure that you are receiving the right amount of brotherly affection. Can't slack on anything," he laughed with a wink, also a little bit serious. He was, in a way, making up for the time he missed for last year and possibly even future times. He couldn't always promise to be there, but when he could he would.

"Would you like to see Biscuit? She's been excited to see you all day," he said with a grin, knowing that she would.

Pearline knew her brother might not always be here, but she knew he also didn't go on a lot of the more serious mission, he was bottom of the barrel and she liked it that way, the less important he was, the fewer jobs he would get, thus eliminating the dangerous jobs. Well, at least that's how it worked in her mind. She knew Ger didn't want to be one of the top dogs, something she was insanely grateful for. Leave that to people like her Aunt Morgana, not her brother.

She perked up at the mention of her Golden Retreiver. Gerard, her mom and dad had all got Biscut for her on her 5th birthday. Biscut was the 'family' dog, but really, in a way, souly Pearline's. She had wanted a dog ever since she could say the word puppy (likewise with Kitty) So, finally her parents bought a dog 'for the family', but Biscut always tagged along with Pearline, wherever she went. Then, Ger kept his word of buying her a kitten the Christmas that she would be 14, and he had. Surprisngly, Biscut and her kitten Hera loved each other and got along just fine, ( ... )

Gerard laughed and pulled her closer to him before walking towards where he was staying, "Actually mother thought it would be a good idea, but I agreed. Besides everyone needs a little cheering up correct?"

He knew that once his mom had suggested it that he would. He knew that he needed to bring something with him but he didn't know what. In his mind money wasn't enough but Biscuit was enough. That was for sure.

"You are by far the worlds best brother." She grinned. "How is she doing? You guys have been taking good care of her?" She smiled, eager to see her beloved dog.

"What haven you been doing lately Ger? Fill me in with all the going ons"

"Of course we have. We wouldn't just let her become malnurished now would we?" He said in mock horror.

Shrugging, he looked up at her and wondered about what he had done lately. "Just work. Nothing too much, unfortunately. How is school?"

She grinned when they reached Ger's rented room. She shrieked in delight when she saw Biscut laying lazily on the bed. Her dog was now 10 years old, but still as lively and playful as ever. She was glad for that.

Bouncing on the bed next to her dog, she grinned. "Meh, school is school. I'm bored with it at times, but weeks like this make it better."

Gerard sat down on a seat near the bed and smiled as she bounced on the bed next to the dog. Might as well stay here a while and let them bounce around together.

"Well that's why we have them," he said with a smile. "Wouldn't want anything happening."

Pearline squeeled as her dog licked at her face eagerly. She'd have to clean up and redo her makeup later, but that was a small price to pay to play with her dog.

She smiled up at Ger. "Thanks for bringing her. So tell me what you want to do over the week. I cant beleive we have all that time to spend together. It feels like Christmas and summer holiday!"

Gerard smiled as he watched them play, relaxing back into his chair a little more.

"My pleasure Pear, I wouldn't want you to go so long without seeing your puppy now would I?" He paused before responding to her other question, trying to think of what to do. "I know. Well we can shop, talk, just hang around as usual. The normal things."
