If I CO 10 stitches and knit in the round, will the tube of knitted stitches be 10 stitches wide or 5 stitches wide?

I found out the other day that my sister-in-law is having a baby, (Yippie!) so I want to knit a beginning/easy level sweater since it's going to be a winter baby. I'm sure it's a massive secret that everyone except me already knows, but today I discovered the SSP* stitch as a replacement for end of RS knit row SSK* decreasing!
It's so much prettier and mirrors the K2Tog much much better, plus none of those horrid slip lines showing! Perfect for the v-neck I'm currently knitting.
