And neither did Terminal 5. Tried their damnedest though.

Lots of stuff happened - hardcore tourism, ticking off fast food franchises left and right, hospital visits, you name it - but I suppose the big story to come out of the past 3 weeks is this conversation:

And just like that we were engaged.

I'm waiting to hear from Sawong herself, but from what I'm seeing she's now stuck in Chicago overnight. According to Flightstats her plane from Heathrow touched down 45 minutes late. But there's no rush as it seems the last flight West from O'Hare has been cancelled. Aside from another Boeing bellyflop, this is pretty much the nightmare scenario. ( Read more... )

A couple of incidents over the last few days have led me to believe that either vampkidbaby or myself are a jinx to the modern car. On Saturday there was Turbo's C5 suddenly conking out at Byres Road, and today my Dad's Kangoo (Daisy) had an unexplained loss of turbo power coming back down from Glen Nevis that made the journey up the hills interesting to say ( Read more... )

It's been a fun two weeks so far, this holiday. Best ever, I'd say! A week of vampkidbaby acclimatisation was followed by the Turbo/Tanya legal melding, a great if uncomfortable day.
