It's been a fun two weeks so far, this holiday. Best ever, I'd say! A week of
vampkidbaby acclimatisation was followed by the Turbo/Tanya legal melding, a great if uncomfortable day. Then it was off to Glasgow for 2 nights at the Radisson, with a view looking down onto the Heilanman's Umbrella. Touristing around Kelvingrove, the International Street Market (Bratwurst and Tartiflette - think Stovies with added cheese - made for good eating), watching Hot Fuzz, and the inevitable shopping made for an extremely full weekend.
Yesterday was quieter, with only a trip to ASDA to gather components for a massive Sawong-constructed pasta meal, replete with huge chunk of garlic bread. She made herself ill, poor thing, too much for her. But today she was fine and we could resume tourist duty in the company of the folks. Bizarrely, before I wrote this I checked LJ to find
dayo had been in the same neck of the woods as us today - Loch Lomond (including the Shores shopping complex), and Inverary via the Rest And Be Thankful. We then carried on down to Tyndrum, Callander, and finally to a local pub (the Red Deer, in the nice part of town) for dinner. Great, though more shopping occurred!
Looking ahead, tomorrow it's the Ayrshire coast, and Thursday we're hoping to visit the Falkirk Wheel before moving on to Edinburgh for a few days, which I'm hoping will include:
- A trip to the zoo on Friday
- A viewing of Blades of Glory
- Raiding the Royal Mile for tat etc
- Anything else we can think up
After all that? We shall have to see. For now, it's off to WoW-land for a few till bedtime. Oh, did I neglect to mention we both got Burning Crusade in the Play sale? ;P
