Vampkid's flying out a week tomorrow, arriving on the 3rd. I fly down then to meet her, we stay overnight near Euston, and get the train up on Wednesday afternoon. So, a plan then.

I'm waiting to hear from Sawong herself, but from what I'm seeing she's now stuck in Chicago overnight. According to Flightstats her plane from Heathrow touched down 45 minutes late. But there's no rush as it seems the last flight West from O'Hare has been cancelled. Aside from another Boeing bellyflop, this is pretty much the nightmare scenario. ( Read more... )

Well, that's Sawong away again, but not without some last-minute hassles. Turns out her direct flight from Heathrow to SFO was cancelled overnight, and now she has a 3-hour stopover in her favourite airport (underline is the new sarcasm), Chicago O'Hare. Well, Sawong was due in to Glasgow at 10am today, but suffice it to say, it ain't gonna happen. To United's credit, her flight from SFO into Heathrow was 15 minutes late taking off, which is nothing, but they landed a full half-hour ahead of time - I got woken up by a call 5 minutes before she was due to land ( Read more... )
