The Vikings were absolutely not keen on certain things, that's why the seers/priests sugarcoated what really happened with a more glorified and violent version of events. What Brokkr asked for had the words "Loki" and "head" in it, alright, but it had nothing to do with decapitating.
Brokkr and Loki are actually friends and the competition against the Sons of Ivaldi was Loki's idea of a huge advertising campaign. Brokkr's business wasn't going so well lately, not least due to the Ivaldi shop being a big competitor. And there's no better publicity than having all of Asgard say your stuff is The best shit ever. Poor Sif losing her hair was just the hook that guarantied to draw enough attention to the whole thing. (They are already in each others bad books anyway and getting yelled at and threatened to get Mjölnir thrown at his head was so worth it.) And since Loki is a bit of an exhibitionist and loves shocking people: win-win situation

Yesterday I rewatched Thor for the first time in a while, and I was struck by a weird realisation. Everyone thought Thor was banished for good. Lost forever. As good as dead - worse than dead. And I keep forgetting that. It takes a while for it to sink in for Thor himself, and the movie turns things around so quickly that it’s really hard to remember it.
Now that I have been reminded, I crave an AU where Loki doesn’t get grabbed by that frost giant, i.e. doesn’t find out he’s adopted, lose his mind, and fuck shit up beyond belief. So Thor actually remains banished. And Loki really hadn’t meant for that to happen, and starts missing his brother. So he starts paying Thor illicit visits in his exile, and their conversation eventually, inevitably turns to the question: can Thor come home

The Thor 2 trailers have given me all the bro feels, as well as inspiring new ideas.
What I'd really like to see is post-Avengers, after Thor takes Loki home, he quickly notices that Loki is hypersensitive to the slightest touch. He realizes that Loki was in the Void for so long, and in unfriendly hands for so long, that he's completely forgotten what good touch feels like, and he gets an extreme reaction to even a soft brush against his back or arms.
So Thor decides to take advantage of this to try to render Loki more cooperative by chaining him to the bed and touching him very softly, gently, until he goes almost mad from the sensation and will do whatever Thor asks.
+ if Loki begs to be allowed to come but Thor doesn't let him, at least not initially. ++ if Loki eventually comes without Thor ever actually touching his cock.

Post-Avengers, but before sending him off to Asgard, SHIELD decides to do a few medical scans of Loki and are horrified by what they find.
Although he seems fine on the outside, his insides are all fucked up from evidence of prolonged torture.
Worse, Bruce catches sight of something on the scans that looks like there is still something inside of it that shouldn't be.
They do emergency surgery to try to remove it/do some repair work on the internal injury, but none of their anaesthesia works on him, so they have to keep him pinned down with Mjolnir to keep him from moving.
As soon as they remove the parasite (I'm thinking a nasty wormlike thing, like from Wrath of Khan,) Loki's behavior abruptly changes, he stops being aggressive and becomes much calmer and cooperative. SHIELD does some study on the parasite (possibly calling in bug-related experts Hank Pym or Peter Parker?) and determine that it's an organic Chitauri remote-control device, which they used to send him instructions and agonizing pain if he didn't cooperate.

Laufey has 2 children and during the war with Asgard, he's pregnant with his third, Loki.
