Backstory: The truth is, Betta is an 82-year-old mermaid. Merfolk can live up to 300 years, so, truly, Betta is still a lovely young adult. As mentioned in some stories, merfolk are able to become humans, but the trick that no one ever mentions is that they take on the appearance of their age in human years. So a supple young mermaid-turned-human could look like a crusty old hag ( ... )

Misc. Notes:
1. She really REALLY loves to sing, and as a mermaid she has a beautiful voice, but as a human her voice sounds freaking terrible - scratchy, off-key, and just plain awful. To make matters even worse, she hosts a karaoke night every saturday night at the Chantey Shanty. The customers hate it, but the drink specials on saturday night entice them anyway. Critics of her singing automatically get banned from the bar for life. And at least one broken bone.

2. Betta still has the libido of a 20-year-old nymphomaniac and flirts shamelessly with the male patrons of the Shanty. She occasionally gets lucky if the poor man has enough drinks.

3. I guess I should make it clear that while she retains the appearance of an older woman, her body isn't aging internally. That's why she, despite her age and physical appearance, is healthy enough to live the life of a much younger woman (i.e. she isn't wheelchair-bound, at risk for heart attack, etc).

PersonalityCurious, quiet, and worrywart describe him best. Geno is shy to most strangers and gets nervous around the more outgoing ones (they were like cannibals to him in his childhood), but if he needs something from someone, he will step up to them... just nervously. It doesn't help that his addiction to cola and coffee make him more jittery in person. Get him talking, though, and he's a sweet person. He was taught to respect everyone, women especially, but will get exceptionally ( ... )

BackstoryHow Geno came to be exactly remains a mystery to this day, but all of his memories were in a science lab and he learned at an early age that he came into this world as someone's experiment. It was miraculous for the staff to see the boy grow up, and so they kept him as their own and this was the home and family he came to know. The lab was mainly a small business/facility for medical products and research located just outside Downtown Nonnom by the docks, and it's purpose was convenient should any health obstacles get in Geno's way, given his creation wasn't exactly perfect. And plenty of obstacles have happened, causing him to be a compulsive germaphobic who keeps a bottle of hand sanitizer in his pocket at all costs. A bigger defect of his, however, is his inability to feel pain, or much of anything for the matter, and the goggles he wears to this day became a necessity as a safety measure. He's been on many clinical trials for just about his entire life ( ... )

Misc. Notes:
. Goggles are a safety necessity for him at all times. He has several pairs in all sorts of styles, but his default are plain old safety goggles.
. He keeps a paper diary as well as an electronic blog. The book log is with him at all times.
. And he really has no direction on where he wants to go in life
. Alcohol is a big no but caffinated soda is a big yes... but only to him!
. He smiles, really! There's a time and place for everything!

In-Character Example PostI ended up not being able to sleep again last night. I usually don't like going downstairs late at night since you know sometimes there's the crazier of the drunks that are scary to be around, and I still can't really stand the smell of beer. You smell it when they laugh in your face. It's disgusting! Then the more burly ones pat me on the back really hard. It doesn't necessarily hurt, but I'm still practically knocked off my chair with my drink spat out in front of me ( ... )

Backstory:Malicia MaCawber was a renowned supervillain (and demon duck) in her universe who desired anything and everything. However she went too far after she infiltrated and screwed around with the criminal world organization F.O.W.L. They put a large reward on her head, and she became the target of every assassin, bounty hunter, and villain around... including her greedy boyfriend. Furious and heartbroken she decided to lay low for awhile and disappeared without a trace ( ... )

Part 3

Misc. Notes: Malicia comes from a magical background. She was born and raised in Transylvania among a society of 'monsters' --ghouls, werewolves, vampires, etc. As a result she is quite comfortable around the 'unusual' and paranormal. She is also a sorceress, although her magic is a little rusty from being underused.

Her cerberus familiar Pringles accompanies her to Nonnon. Because he's er... a gigantic three-headed canine beast of Hell, roughly the size of a large dump truck, she has him hidden out in the middle of the forest where nobody can find him. She'll go out there regularly to visit him and make sure he's well fed. She doesn't want anyone to associate Pringles with her, otherwise it could blow her cover.

She has a bit of a dependency on alcohol. It helps her forget the past.

She'll eventually get a permanent home in town once she saves up enough money and/or can get a loan at the bank.

Personality:
Meibel is a highly optimistic girl, despite some of the awful things that have occurred over her life thus far. She believes in miracles, and most especially in luck (which has, ironically enough, landed her in quite a bit of trouble). Meibel has a genial disposition and is quite gregarious, happy to make friends with even the weirdest of people (most likely the result of living with a kindly-yet-freaky vampire and fashion-loving alien, along with her grumpy-face brother and their crazy circle of friends). She was taught to be polite to people when she was young, and she maintains her civility even with those she dislikes, though forced it may be ( ... )

BackstoryMeibel Song is a 21-year-old young woman with, well, a few assets that separate her from a normal woman her age. Aside from her amazingly upbeat personality that not many people seem to share (especially with someone with a story like hers), she posses rabbit ears and a cottonball tail. It makes her something of an oddity, and sometimes, Meibel isn't taken very seriously because of these features. It annoys her, but she's quick to prove herself to be a hard-working and eager person ( ... )

» Her "family" consists of Almond Song, Bruce Aldridge and Stevie Phillips. She misses them dearly and often thinks of them. Meibel keeps in contact with them through phone, but that's about it.

» Meibel is not fond of alcohol (see below for a reason) and will pretty much turn down any offer for a drink. She doesn't mind if people drink it around her as long as they don't drink excessively, hurt anyone or make fools of themselves ( ... )
