Owners of paid accounts are of certain interest to advertisers

Yeah, the reason most people have paid accounts is to get away from advertising. That scares me.

Yes, they are and we have always worried about that someone, and seen some instances where that has been violated (ala sponsored mood themes and sponsored layouts; the initial roll out of Ampd Mobile (ahaha which crashed and burned)).

But, to be fair, that quote is not from anyone at SUP or LJ, just a speculating source.

Regarding "trading" accounts: Either I'm completely mistaken, or the email address an account is registered under always remains associated with it, in order to prevent account theft...

" Brad Fitzpatrick, LiveJournal’s owner was against basic accounts to be abandoned"

Proofread! Proofread!

Basic accounts as a commodity with trading value has started

LOL. I've undeleted all of mine too. Won't trade them, though.

Sometimes translators from Russian don't always get the English exactly! That's not my fault! I'm quoting exact, baby!

recycled_lj appears to actually be an older community, with no activity for more than 6 months. However, I imagine it could and maybe would certainly be used for this.

And OMG the quote from Mr. Nosik. GRRRRR.

You're right--I saw people link to it in news and read the first few posts without paying attention to the dates. Took it out of the post!

Aren't they more likely to raise the price of paid accounts than to get rid of them? Because then the same features would have to be implemented across the board, and that means either tons more server space needed, or getting rid of a lot of stuff like vice posts.

I'd think so, too.

Er, that would be voice posts. Ooops.

I liked your first version better. Although the idea that they'd charge us more for posting NC17 fanfiction wouldn't sit well with fandom...
