I slipped into sketchfest on Sunday morning. Saturday was spent working on some commissions and chores. I’ll be going back and doing some more business stuff this afternoon as I have contracts and emails to work through, as well as more painting, but I wanted to get in at least one piece for sketchfest. Finally got some new work I can show!

We’ve had some crazy weather of the past few weeks, including near cyclonic weather over the Australia day weekend. Literally Brisbane was on tornado watch, insane I tell you! Lots of downed trees, flooding, power outages, cut roads… one thing you can say for our weather, it is certainly never dull!

I don’t like gore, but when it comes to painting RPG (role playing game) characters, sometimes the character may have a few battle scars. All of us have scars - some from childhood, some from being an idiot, sometimes from being tired, sometimes from being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Two new commissioned character portraits. They were a lot of fun to paint!  The first is a young female mage, while the second is a Sell Sword or mercenary. Both have Viking influences in their garb. Click on the images to see the larger view.
