Nyx - Goddess of the night
I started this painting many years ago, when I used Painter as my primary digital painting software. At the time I had a lot of other competing priorities, so she slipped into the WIP folder, home of the many unfinished paintings. With a few more years experience under my belt, and the desire to just finish a painting that was pretty, and for myself, I decided to redo this one.
I have always loved goddesses and myths related to celestial bodies. Nyx is a Greek primordial goddess linked to the night. She is the darkness, the mother of dreams and shadows, always at the edge of things.
