Spring has arrived with a triumph of fine weather. I have been in short-sleeves most of the week (still wearing stockings with my skirts, though) and spent most of yesterday afternoon lying in the sun in the lounge or on the deck with a book or the laptop reading. I woke up this morning with an unusually vivid dream which is still relatively fresh in my mind, breakfast, skimming through a book on shoes and a shower later. It also meant I snoozed my alarm for 40 mins, even though I had set it for when I planned to get up. Sorry, tamarillow.

It has been a productive weekend, mostly regarding housework and gardening. We have lots of marigolds coming up between the poppies and daisies, so to give them a better chance at life, I shifted some of them out and found we had more than expected. After a busy weekend, I am experimenting with embroidery stitches. I have borrowed tamarillow's A-Z of embroidery stitches and I have a scrap piece of linen, which I suppose, technically, is a sampler and am trying out a few stitches before I start bl9_knt and purplesparkler's wedding present. I'll get the linen for that next week.

Got to cell group tonight for the first time since I was invited about six weeks ago or so. I knew most of the people there already. tamarillow wasn't there, what with being in Australia and all, but I plan to drag her next fortnight. Have been variously confused today by the overseas references to Father's Day being today when I was sure that it was the first Sunday in September. Then I checked my calender and realised that, yes, New Zealand and Australia have a different Father's Day from other parts of the world.
