This chapter was really hard to write. It took me... nearly two month D: That's because Ohno isn't doing what  I want him to do. He's rather acting on his own. Yeah, you'll laugh, because I'm the one who writes him, ne? But seriously... while writing I felt like what Nino must have felt in this chapter D:

Chapter 35

A loud moan echoed through the dimly-lit room. Then another. And another. Sweaty bodies pressed against each other lustfully, kissing and touching greedily.

It had all happened so fast. Sho had suddenly pulled him out of the club and into one of the back rooms. A few seconds later Aiba had felt Sho on top of him and then he had thought of nothing but how badly he wanted to touch Sho, to feel him. And that's what he was doing now, with every fiber of his being.

"Ahhh... Sho...," he moaned again loudly before he shot his hot semen into Sho and collapsed into the soft pillows. "God, I missed this so much."

A breathless chuckle sounded next to him.

"I hope it wasn't just this." Sho turned to him and looked at Aiba with a sparkle in his eyes, looking so beautiful, it almost stole his breath. How had he managed to go a whole year without him?

"Oh... if only you knew," Aiba breathed, exhausted, and closed his eyes, basking in the afterglow. Everything around him felt so easy, so natural again as if it had been like this the whole time. As if nothing had happened since they had had sex for the first time.

But something had happened and Aiba knew that they would have to talk about it sooner rather than later.

But right now, both of them seemed to enjoy the quiet moment.

"Did you miss me, Masaki-san?" Sho whispered after a while, causing Aiba to slowly open his eyes and look at him again.

"Masaki," he answered curtly.

"What?"

"Say, did you miss me, Masaki," Aiba emphasized again. Because there was no need to stand on ceremony anymore. So much had happened between them, so much was connecting them to each other now. Why should they keep creating distance through this formal address?

"Did you miss me... Masaki?" Sho asked again, a lot more hesitant this time. But Aiba only smiled because the question sounded much better now.

"Of course I did."

"Would you mind if something were to happen between Sho-kun and Masaki-san? I always had the feeling you didn't really like Sho-kun," Ohno said after a short silence. Nino hadn't known what to say to Ohno's last words and had therefore preferred to remain silent.

"Sho-kun doesn't like me," he answered curtly, trying not to sound too severe.

"But I can't really blame him...," he added quietly to himself.

Ohno cocked his head to the side and regarded him thoughtfully.

"I always thought that was strange. If Sho-kun really doesn't like someone, he always has a good reason for it. Usually he's a very friendly person," he said before he smiled crookedly. But Nino didn't see any joy in his eyes.

"Probably something you can't tell me about, right?" Ohno asked and Nino didn't miss the sarcasm in his voice. Something he had never heard from him before. It was so unexpected and it didn't suit him.

'If only you knew... why Sho-kun can't stand me... if only you knew that I killed his brother. You would hate me even more than you already do, wouldn't you?'

But before he could answer his question, Ohno continued speaking:

"Sho-kun warned me, you know? He said that a few hosts disappeared after they were with you. It's funny, isn't it? Seeing as you're the one who disappeared in the end, not me."

These words made Nino swallow convulsively. Not only had someone noticed that he had taken some fresh nourishment every now and then, but the way Ohno acted around him now was so very wrong. There was no hint of tenderness to be found. Ohno's behavior was unsettling him more and more and he couldn't allow it to continue. Nino had to make sure their role reversal was reversed again soon, or else his dealings with Ohno could, sooner or later, become dangerous.

He had to keep the upper hand. He couldn't let Ohno unsettle him.

"With the way things turned out, you don't seem to have to be afraid of me anymore." Nino smiled quickly and took a sip of his drink, indicating that for him the topic was closed. Silently he hoped that Ohno would leave it at that.

"As long as the rumors were true, which I hope they weren't. Because if they were, I would have to be glad that you left me back then." Ohno copied him and sipped on his drink after uttering those words.

Then they were sitting across from each other in complete silence again, their faces expressionless.

'That's not how I imagined this would go. Why didn't you welcome me back with open arms, Satoshi? You loved me so much back then. So much that it broke your heart when I left. So why? Why are you not happy that I'm back? Why doesn't my charm work on you anymore?' Nino asked himself while he looked into Ohno's unreadable eyes.

"Are you happy that I'm back?" Nino tried a more direct and open question. It seemed to be the right thing to do because he could watch the emotions on Ohno's face again immediately. He looked surprised at first, then thoughtful.

“Yes. Of course, I'm happy," he answered quickly, "After all... I mean... yes. I'm happy."

He had finally managed to get through Ohno's defenses. Slowly Nino started to feel in control again.

"Your dismissive behavior doesn't quite show that."

"Dismissive? What did you expect? You just turn up here, without explaining anything, you apologize and now you're expecting me to treat you as if you never left? That's not the way this works, Nino... I can't do that." Ohno's words sounded serious and the seriousness was also reflected in his eyes.

Nino had to swallow again. He knew he had to make the most of this situation. He was almost sure it would be his only chance. He had to win Ohno back now; and he had to choose his words wisely if he wanted to succeed.

"And you shouldn't. Satoshi, I'm here to ask for your forgiveness. I never wanted things to end like they did. I'm not asking you to forget about it, but... I'm asking you to accept my apology. Please forgive me."

Nino tensed. He didn't look away from Ohno, he just pressed his lips together in a thin line and waited for his answer. He could see clearly how his plea affected Ohno. His face - as easy to read now as it had been a year ago - showed surprise and maybe a tiny bit of embarrassment because of his direct words. Nino hoped it would have a positive effect on his answer.

"Forgive you...?" Ohno asked and his voice wavered slightly. For a while there was silence again while the candle in between them flickered, painting warped shadows on their faces. But instead of answering his question, Ohno posed another:

"What happens, if I forgive you?"

Now it was Nino's turn to stay silent for a moment.

What would happen, if Ohno forgave him? What had been his plans when he had come back to Japan?

He had to admit that he had had no plan at all, that he had just followed his heart. In his naivety, he had let himself get caught up in Aiba's enthusiasm and followed a path he knew would end in his ruin, without a plan.

But, damn, he loved Ohno.

"If you can forgive me, I would like to... start over," Nino said carefully, taking deep breaths once he was done. Deep and slow breaths to fight the excitement that was rising within him again.

"Start over? But why? To what end, Nino? Who tells me that, a couple of months from now, you won't leave me again without giving me a reason? I don't want...," but Ohno hesitated and scrunched up his nose before he continued, "... I don't want to have to put myself back together again."

These last, barely audible words forced Nino to his feet. Within seconds he had rounded the table and put his hand on top of Ohno's.

"I promise... I promise I will never leave again. Not without you."

A part of him wanted to hit himself, wanted to beat himself up so bad he wouldn't be able to say words like that when he was done. Because he knew he wasn't telling the truth. He knew very well that he wouldn't be able to stay forever, not with the life he led. And he knew that he would never be able to take Ohno with him.

But had his relationship with Ohno - if you could even call it that - not been built on lies from the very beginning?

"I'll stay with you," Nino breathed, gently touching Ohno's cheek and looking at him as honestly as he could. He stroked the soft skin tenderly, over and over again, trying to placate, and maybe even charm, Ohno. He wanted to show him the Nino he had been when they had first met. The Nino, Ohno had fallen in love with back then.

And Ohno reacted. He lifted his hand and put it on top of Nino's hand on his cheek, all the while smiling softly.

He didn't know how long he had been lying next to Sho. He didn't know whether time was flying or dragging by sluggishly. Aiba had lost all sense of time, but he didn't really want to find it again, either. Things were good the way they were.

Next to him Sho moved a little, but he seemed to have fallen asleep.

And Aiba smiled happily.

'Who would have thought it would be this easy with us? That everything would be back to the way it was before with just a few words?' he asked himself happily, looking up at the ceiling of the room Sho had pulled him into. Apparently these rooms, furnished only with a bed and two small cabinets, were part of the club.

But before his thoughts could wander away with him, Sho suddenly started to move next to him, burrowing into the bed, tossing and turning restlessly.

"Are you having a nightmare...?" Aiba whispered barely audibly, gently caressing Sho's tousled hair. He wasn't sure whether he should wake Sho or let him sleep, but in the end he settled on waking him, so as not to let him suffer any longer.

"Hey... it's OK...," he said, a little louder now, and put his hand on Sho's cheek. Sho woke up immediately. Out of breath and totally perplexed, he looked at him.

"Masaki... Masaki... you're not leaving again, right? You're not leaving me again...?" Sho's words sounded hopeful, but at the same time almost desperate. He sat up in the bed quickly and curled into Aiba's chest even more quickly, wrapping his arms tightly around Aiba's waist. Once Aiba had shaken of the shock of his sudden touch, he slowly leaned his cheek against the top of Sho's head. He waited a while to start speaking:

"I... can't tell you. I don't know long we're going to stay. Maybe only a few months... maybe a few years. Maybe forever. I don't know."

Even though it hurt him, Aiba knew that he had to tell Sho the truth. Even if the truth hurt him, even if it destroyed his hopes; Aiba knew that honesty was the right way to go, the only way to go. The only way to someday being able to be happy with Sho; without obstacles.

Because it were relationships like these - Aiba hoped that one day what he had with Sho could be called a real relationship - that lasted forever. And were relationships built on lies not doomed to fail from the very beginning?
