It was clear to me that I needed and wanted to go home this week, to see Dad and to say Goodbye to him. There is something about your body and your brain and heart all understanding that someone has gone. A few weekends back I travelled back to the UK for the Run Mummy Run Retreat in Cheshire, hoping to find my running mojo again. Almost exactly a year ago, my parents sold the family home and moved a few miles away to a smaller place. Today, a bit more than 40 years after they finished building the house and moved in with my Grandma and I, my parents move out of "The Anchorage" in Frenchay.
