Zell's Big Mouth

Jun 28, 2006 15:58

Ok so today I'm going to do something a little bit different. Normally, I would have 1 main debate topic to discuss, but today, I'm going to do 2 in 1 entry. I think it'll be fun. I'm aware that we have all talked about events in various Final Fantasy games, and how things would change if one event was to not happen at all. This entry is similar to ( Read more... )

Seifer says why he did it. He tells Squall & co that its his childhood dream to be the Sourcress' Knight. So by doing that he was showing his alligience to her. Which kind of answers the second question too. Wheather or not Zell had spoken, at some point Siefer would have joined the Sourceress

Hello there, it's nice seeing you back. ;)

Oh yeah, I know why he joined Edea and all, that's fine. I'm just curious about his goals when he snapped. You see, I don't think Seifer messed with the President for Edea. Even though I agree that Seifer wanted to be a knight, I don't think he was expecting Edea to recruit him there and then.

Nevertheless, I don't disagree about how you mentioned Seifer joining Edea in the future. :)

I remember Seifer clapping when Squall, Zell and Selphie became SeeD

I thought he might have been kinda sarcastically clapping ^_^; eh well.. He might have been sincere, but I doubt it because of his insubordination causing him to lose being a SeeD.

I don't remember much because I played through the beginning of it to disk 2 only four times, but that's only because my memory card kept corrupting.. I'd have been happy with just once.

Yeah, I see what you mean. Seifer being sincere about congratulating his peers doesn't seem to realistic. I just find it interesting that he was the first one to clap, an icebreaker if you will. :P

It's ok that you don't remember to much about FF8. No worries. ;)

Seifer came to Timber because the team (Squall/Zell/Selphie) were total rookies and he worried they'd get in over their heads. I may be wrong, but I think there's actually dialog to this effect - something Quistis says Seifer had said ( ... )

Oh yes, I do remember the dialog that Quistis says that Seifer had said. I can't remember the quote either, but I know she said something about how he was upset that they sent 3 rookies for this mission. What's ironic is that Seifer is usually the one who tends to get in over his head. But I do see what you mean though ( ... )

But quite frankly, I can see Rinoa's dad not doing anything to get her out of that kind of sticky situation. He'll probably use that as a life lesson for her that is if execution wasn't the punishment.

I don't know, I always presumed that it was Carroway's doing that Rinoa got released from the D-District prision - when Irvine takes her away and she threatens to scratch him to hell if he doesn't turn back to get the others.

Now that you mention it, was he really the one who got them out? It does sound quite likely though. It just makes you wonder what else he could have been responsible for. Talk* about you’re "anonymous benefiter."

Conclusion on the possible reason and senario to help clearify what my answer would be to the question of "Why did Seifer attack President Deling?" would be this:
Rinoa with the Forest Owls (Zone and Watts) came up with a plan. Worked it out in detail, and saw a once in a lifetime oppertunity to pull it off. After all when will it be the next time that President Deling would make a trip via train to Timber? So after some 'investigation' they found out what route and when ( ... )

Are you the scenario writer for Final Fantasy 8? Because that was a beautiful summary you made, lol. It was flawless, and so realistic. I can imagine everything, from Rinoa calling up Seifer and asking for SeeD’s assistance ( ... )

Um, no... but I wish that I was a senario writer.... it's just in my little delusional mind, these are real people to me...

... I don't know if I should be happy or sad over that...

I agree, it was Seifer's belief that Squall and company could not be successful. The ingame booklet (or maybe the strategy guide; I can't remember exactly) says that while he is Squall's rival, he also recognizes his talent too. That is why he clapped. I believe that was sincere, but anyone can interpret his actions as they please ( ... )

Seifer and Selphie? I don't think I ever read any fanfics about that pairing. That's unconventional, but could be fun. :-)
