Animagic, Day 2 and 3

Aug 01, 2011 11:31

And back I am, here in non-cosplay reality.

It sucks being here. Big time! >.<

So on Saturday, we got up quite early (8 o'clock xD) because we needed to get our cosplay ready.

pinku chose her other lolita outfit which was awesome I think because I absolutely love her headpiece.

Dawwwwww, sooooo cute!

I went of course as Ghoulia Yelps:

Oh my. I am actually quite proud on this. I mean the bodypaint is waaaaaaaaayyyy to dark and my shoes almost killed me (I don't think you can see the heels I had to stand on but believe me, it felt awful walking on them and I was very very slow - like a zombie ;D)
Here, have some details (because the earrings were a pain in the ass to wear x_x)

Tihihi, okay, so much for bragging. I actually wasn't recognized that much but the guys over at the Pullip-booth (Pullips are the kind of dolls I talked about in my last entry =) ) instantly knew what I cosplayed and were quite happy to see me. *_________*

Anyway, we started our tour at the bring&buy-fleamarket because I wanted to get rid of some of my old manga and Jrock-magazines (one gets older after all ;D) and then we decided to go take a look at the Cosplay-challenge.

There one or two persons could present their cosplay usually accompanied by some piece of music and dancing or some short sketch.
This kind of challenge is usually full of second-hand-embarrasment but this time it was due to the awful show-hosts. Seriously, the girl presenting the different cosplay was just... I don't know. She was annoying as hell, she wasn't even able to pronounce the contestants' names right and... bah, it was godawful to watch srsly. >_<
The challengers also weren't that good apart from those guys:

Gimli and Legolas. They sung a slightly altered version of "What's this feeling" from the musical "Wicked" which was superawesome xDDDDD
("Es kam über mich in Elronds Rat und es wird so bleiben bis zum Jüngsten Tag...")
And of course Legolas was the one who had to do the girly screaming at the end. ;DDDD

Following this adventure, we went once again down to the Rhine to search for cosplays and found this:

Scrubs cosplay! =D Those outfits must have been so comfy! ;)

After that we watched the rest of the "Group-Cosplay-Challenge" which was better than the solo-part (especially the Zelda-group that wrote a parody about the new "Nintedo 3DS" xDDD) but still cringeworthy because of the hosts. Brr. Just hope they learn from their mistakes next year. >_<

Next (at least for me) was an autograph-session with Diana Liesaus, a german Mangaka who is responsible for "Musouka" which I bought around two years ago (read here.) She was really sweet and happy that I actually brought the manga with me (other people wanted her to scribble something into their Con-Hons (like scrapbooks) tihihi. =)

I don't know exactly what we were doing after that apart from eating

(It's so cool that Ghoulia's favourite food is Fast Food xD)

and taking pictures of awesome cosplay

Gantz! And they were even able to glow blue-ish as you can see! *___*

before we went on to watch the musical show group "Tsuki no Senshi" and their play for "Kuroshitsuji". It was very enjoyable but sometimes I just wished that they had found a better ending for each scene because the audience never really knew when they were supposed to clap. ;D There is an "official" Japanese musical for "Kuroshitsuji" which is... mwah, I don't know, it's sweet but not very high quality I suppose. I
(and just for pardotje have this scene here because she loves Eric/Alan)

Ehm yes. I left the TnS-version a bit early because I wanted to see "Mardock Scramble: The First Compression" a supposed-to-be cyberpunk-OVA.
It wasn't quite what I expected it to be and the shameless amounts of fanservice put me off (because they were dealing with the RAPE of young girls for fuck's sake, you just don't show so many unnecessary panty-shots >.<) but it had a cute little golden mouse =DDD
The trailer

After that pinku and I met a Rainbow Dash cosplayer who was very hyperactive and awesomesaucly cute. <3

The last point on our list of activities was watching "Gantz", the movie I saw in the cinema in Tokyo.
It was great to see it again (although the German dubbing downright KILLED the atmosphere most of the time >.<) but the slash was awesome ;D and I finally understood some of the more dramatic parts (because "Jugendknast" wasn't in my Japanese vocabulary just then xD). Wahhhh, I wanna see the second part so badly right now!
One thing that struck me as ridiculous was that the German version didn't include any subtitles for the Japanese texts (like SMS, poster readings, announcements and most of all the texts explaining the whole story O__O) so that about 90% of the audience was mildly put off I think. Meh. o.o

Well it was enyjoyable nonetheless.
The Sunday on the other hand was quite a disapppointement because those without a ticket weren't allowed to enter the convention-area (sounds stupid but during the last years at 16o'clock all people were allowed to enter) so we had to spend our time outside the area and look for cosplay there:

Cats!

The "Gummibären-Bande". They even had tiny Gummibären-Saft-phioles! ;DDD

And that's pretty much it.
=)
All in all I was superhappy to attend the convention this year and I am superhyped to watch anime and stuff right now (and learning Japanese, so I can understand stuff xD)!!!
Have a wonderful week, folks!
