my dad's defibrillator had to shock him yesterday.

the doctor said he should head to the hospital asap and might have to get readmitted.

he was discharged last week without any intervention to his blood flow, though moderate to heavy blockage was observed. they might have to rethink that now and that might mean more surgery.

i took my dad home from the hospital today.

he's sore and achy and cranky, but his heart seems to be doing well.
and if that changes, he's now got an internal pacemaker/defibrillator thingy.

last friday my dad collapsed while playing tennis and had to be recuscitated.

he's been in the hospital all weekend and doing well, i think.

so far they've only measured low heart rate and low potassium levels.

today he beat me at scrabble.
tomorrow we are going over his assets.
surgery is scheduled for tuesday.

wow. i seem to have cured my digestion woes. (!!!)

i guess those magic pills really work.

while in vermont, i went to a sauna for the first time and it felt great.
i have two theories about why:

1. i was with my sisters (no kids, no SOs) and we laughed so hard we cried.
2. saunas just feel good.

i'd like to test theory 2 by visiting a sauna/sweat house again sometime soon.
anyone know of one nearby?

i started taking a vitamin/probiotic supplement today that i will continue to take, and will track the results of, for a month. i'm taking the one for crohn's and colitis, even though i've never been diagnosed with either.

it's an otc supplement from a company called ganeden.
