Has anyone here ever read the book Fertility, Cycles & Nutrition by Marilyn Shannon? Have you ever used Dr. Abraham's PMS diet? What are your thoughts and experiences with this?

I'm looking for a good book on introducing solids to babies. Do any of you have a favorite? I have Super Baby Foods and I have used recipes from it in the past, but I'd really like something .. different. More emphasis on breastfeeding. Simple, whole foods.

Does anyone know of a good way to clean old books? I inherited many books from my grandmother and they were housed in a mountain cabin in which she used a woodburning stove to keep warm and smoked Pall Mall unfiltered cigarettes. My midwife requires that we take a birthing class as first time parents. I've looked into the birthing classes available in the area and I'm not highly impressed. Most are offered free at the hospitals. There are a few others that are offered through churches or woman wellness/baby stores, but those are rather expensive classes and take place ( Read more... )

I'm looking to add several books to my library. I need suggestions on parenting, cooking, and lifestyle books or magazines. What should i get? I have Dr. Sears the baby book, and the womanly art of breastfeeding, but going to the store and seeing these millions of parenting books are confusing.

i have a friend who is going to be a first time mom in April.
