Planting daylilies and running the roads

Aug 12, 2014 20:38

I got home to an empty house and got to work in the daylilies. I had to separate and label them before I could plant them. Separating them is hard work. I am dividing them into single or double fans, just so they have the best chance of growing large and healthy.

Alida and family came home in a little while and went inside out of the rain. Abe called and wanted a ride home from his friend's house. I got cleaned up and headed to pick him up.

We stopped for jalapeno bagles with herb and garlic cream cheese at Timmy's. They were very good. Abe and I had a nice ride home. It was raining again, so I went inside this time.

I sat up in our room and journaled. Alida brought Desmond in to practice sitting up on the bed. He is now eating rice pablum twice a day! I held him for awhile. Abe came in and we started watching Merlin. Then he went down to have a nap after being up late last night and the long Quebec City trip over the weekend.

Oma and Willem made his vegetarian chili and some salad. We all ate together, all six of us at the little round table by the flower window.

I retreated upstairs afterwards. I saw Abe head out in the rain, so went to see where he went. He was enjoying standing in the rain. I picked him up and turned the heat on to dry him out and we went for a drive so he could get dry and sleepy.

He stayed in the car and dozed while I got out and back to work in the labyrinth on the Caline de blues daylilies, then the two jambalya clumps. I am working on the next to the last ring for the labyrinth. These rings are quite long. I'm trying to keep the colours together a bit, in the lines.

My body hurt a lot and I was pretty wet and dirty and it was getting dark, so I came inside again, cleaned up, lay on the bed and journaled. Abe came in and went to bed on the couch again.
