Other craftiness

Well, with the horrible disaster that my dress is (and it's not horrible. It's really a cute dress. But the back is going to look funny once I get it to the point where it fits me. And the lining will be screwed up. Definitely going to redo it at some point, though!), I thought I'd show you my only other crafting. I'm trying to be monogomous to the Maiglockchen, other than my sewing pursuits.

And that's kind of difficult, especially with all the new cute shawlettes that are coming out right now! Here it is at row 55 (and don't worry, from now on I'll only force it upon you every 50 rows or so). I took this picture on Monday, and as of today, I am 3/4 of the way through row 59. Yeah, I didn't even get a full row done at lunch yesterday, and it's just going to get bigger and bigger! Right now I'm on a set of lily of the valley, which includes several 1 to 3 increases and then a 7 to 1 decrease. Very fiddly, and I think that's what's making it take so very long. Once I get into the mesh, maybe it will go quicker?

Oh, and while I'm talking about knitting stuff that no one cares about, what do you think of the nipple in the middle of the work? do you think that will block out? I'd hate to have that little bit ruin the whole work. (I mean, it wouldn't ruin it for me, but it would ruin it as a fair project, and *someone* has to make something to go up against Nicky's Evenstar. It's gorgeous, and I'm hypnotized by it every time I see it!) I can pull it pretty even if I try, but I guess we won't really know until it gets off the needles and blocked. And at half a row per day, that may be a while. (Will I have time to finish my socks (yes) and gloves (maybe) before the fair? I've kind of abandoned the idea of the sweater for this year.)

And don't worry! I am doing a lot of interesting things this weekend, so I'll have more to talk about than the same old shawl come Monday :)
