On our third day in Japan (July 12th) we went to visit Akihabara, "best-known as one of the largest shopping areas on Earth for electronic, computer, anime, and otaku goods". We wandered around a bit and looked at stores.
Takadanobaba, the area where our ryokan was, is just one train stop away from Shinjuku and I think we spent more time there than in any other place. Shinjuku is an area for shopping and entertainment. Again, click on the photos to see bigger versions of them.
I noticed I wrote pretty much all we did on our first day in Tokyo already in an earlier entry so there's no need to repeat it. I'm just going to post random photos related to our first day. The photos are kinda small, but you can view a bit bigger ones if you click the image.
I am back home! Have been for the last 13 hours or so and slept for 10,5 of them. You know what was the greatest thing about returning, besides the feeling of being back in Finland? We have Internet access at the ryokan we're staying at in Tokyo which is very nice. There is a wireless connection here and eath_in_dublin brought her laptop with her, so all's well. :) We had some problems with loading the battery of this thing first, but now it's working

We are in Japan! I'm sitting in a net cafè called Gran Cyber Cafe in Shinjuku. 290 yen (a couple of euros) for an hour plus free drinks and manga. Yay. We still don't have accommodation in Kyoto and are trying to research that. Not having much luck, everyone wants to go to Kyoto next week, apparently. Hopefully we don't have to abandon the idea of

I was in London last week, May 17th - 20th. A nice weekend it was. We had decided with mum that when The Lord of the Rings musical comes to London, we must go see it and now the musical had just come on stage. The Finnish band Värttinä has participated in the making of the music

I am going to Tokyo in July! It's wonderful and in a way so hard to believe that I keep expecting for something bad to happen that will make me unable to go. Waah. But I and my friends have booked a flight and I've payed my share of it. Now we just have to find accommodation. One person would be able to stay at Juha's, our friend who is an exchange
