I had an interview with the Salvation Army on Friday. I think it went well, and their office seemed rather pleasant. I am not thrilled with the idea of working f or a religious organization, but it is a pay check and they do do a lot of good works. There are worse places to work ( Read more... )

I don't have that much to do, but I seem to be busy. Perhaps I am determined to make my self busy. I have been doing some tutorials at the unemployment office - Word - as I am thinking I would like to expand my experience into office admin so that more jobs are open. They are only so useful. Yay - a slow day at work.  this is after 2 and half days of almost flat out.  Monday I actually took lunch and there was a lull in the afternoon for about 15 mintutes.  Tuesday was flat out, eating lunch while inputting a large pay and yesterday was busy up until 1.  Today has been quiet since 10:30.  I suspect tomorrow will be the same, because we ( Read more... )

Well, I finally heard back about the core set-up implementation job I applied for.  Didn't get it.  Nor did the other 2 small business people from Halifax who applied.  The Big Reason - none of us had enough experience with particular reports.  Well, no kidding, those reports are only available on corporate accounts, we have never even seen them.  ( Read more... )

Because our social committee does a variety of things.  Today for example, we are having Turkey for lunch.  This means turkey and the fixings.  All morning the office smelled wonderful and right now I have a plateful of turkey, drssing, mashed potatoes, turnip, carrot and pickles in front of me.  And there is apple crisp for dessert ( Read more... )

Ever get the feeling the project you are working on just doesn't _want_ to be finished.  It is simple, I want to make a pair of socks for my mom for christmas.  I have yarn, pattern and needles, so I cast on.  I get slightly past the heel, and try them on (we are the same shoe size).  To tight.  Rip the whole thing out.  Get larger needles.  I has ( Read more... )
