Mom and Kerri (my youngest sister) sent me a care package with some flowers, so I thought I'd share for all my gardening friends. I can't wait to get back into my gardens at home!

Surgery is over. The waiting was fine -- Mom and I just read for a couple hours in the block room. I don't like needles at ALL, so the IV was probably the worst part. The anaesthetist was a really nice guy, who reminded me a bit of my Grandpa Pimmett with his Jiminy Cricket patch on his coat. The surgeon was also great about the entire thing, ( Read more... )

Plastic surgeon went fine yesterday. No surgery for Dad -- the surgeon figures it would be cosmetic at best, and Dad's decided the hell with doctors. Also managed to get one of the finest treats in life in the form of a Druxy's pastrami sandwich on rye with mustard... I miss Druxy's pastrami, so it was AMAZING to get a treat like that. Waiting to call Dad around 7 pm to get the final results of the surgery yesterday. When I talked to him yesterday night on a break in the middle of philosophy, he told me that the doctors didn't knock him out! He could hear them as they were operating, which he said was the most terrifying thing he's ever experienced. Ok, so I have an update.

Dad was at Toronto Western, because apparently it has the best opthamology program he could get to on short notice. There was a meeting in the middle of the afternoon, and the surgeon laid it out pretty straight up.
