Roomie has a date tonight with Mr. Freaking Gorgeous. I'm SO happy for her! She's been really shy about dating since she had her ex broke up (first boyfriend and all), but this guy seems like a good one. They're off to some wine bar here in London, and lightweight roomie promised not to get too drunk on her first first date in years... He's 2nd year Law school here (after graduating from Richard Ivey -- he's either a genius, rich, or both -- ivey is $40 000 a year, and law school isn't much different....) and they both apparently love wine and kids and being outdoors. I have huge hopes for her -- she's such a sweetheart and she deserves this more than anyone else I know.
Meanwhile, I am enjoying the organic chemistry. And cAMP/cGMP. And WG/HH/EN signalling. And only two of the previous statements were honestly true.
Sister called me last night. Her phone from Telus was broken so she sent it into the shop and they gave her a loaner. Nothing too major. Except when she looked at the photos on the loaner phone, it was filled with home-shot porn photos and videos! She called Telus and took the phone to the cops, who determined as much as they could that it's not identifiably child porn. Thank goodness for small mercies, I suppose. She's making them buy herout of her contract and she's changing companies. I don't blame her -- imagine if someone younger had gotten that phone instead of her!? That was irresponsible of Telus in the EXTREME, and I hope they take the person who had the phone before to task!
And I STILL don't know if my Dad and stepmom are coming for Easter dinner tomorrow. Nothing like no notice, eh?
